“Being an orchestra player is only a small part of being a musician.”

I graduated my Masters at ArtEZ University of the Arts, studying with René Pagen and Stefan Blonk, after the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga. As a freelance horn player I have been lucky to play with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Sinfonia Rotterdam and Camerata Bern.

I am the horn player of Orkest De Ereprijs in Apeldoorn, the ensemble for composed contemporary music. New and experimental music is where I feel most at home, and where I think the horn still has the most to say.

In the 21st century the world is changing at lightning speed and the modern musician has to adapt. These are the three qualities I believe a modern musician should have: learn a lot of different things, be flexible and open your mind to new possibilities.

Private lessons in Amersfoort or online. €60 per hour incl. VAT, in 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons, with a personalised practice plan, free learning materials and a flexible schedule. Packages of 5 and 10 lessons are in the shop. These rates apply to the Amersfoort studio.
